Woke up early to eat breakfast and then got driven by my uncle to the airport! Checked our 11 bags of luggage in and waited at our terminal to board the trusty China Southern airline (note the sarcasm) at 10:30 am. Got delayed last minute for about another 45 minutes so everyone just sat there being bored. There was this lil old Asian man who was listening to very traditional Asian music on his mp3 with his earphones in. Unfortunately, he didn't plug the earphones into the jack deep enough so it could be heard by everyone. He obviously didn't notice cos he had his earphones and and could still hear his own music. It was pretty funny.
Finally boarded at 11:15 am for a long, 9 hour flight!
China Southern's incorrect plane tickets .. sigh*
Our lunch: A choice of chicken with noodles, or prawn pasta. Or as I like to call it, Asian food or Western food. Obviously I chose Western haha.
We didn't get a choice for dinner cos they ran out so I was stuck with the Asian one.
Arrived in China at around late afternoon I think, and had yum cha! Unlike people in Australia, Asians go to yum cha anytime, even if it's like 3 am.
My relatives in China + family.
DAY 2
Went to the hairdresser today cos mum wanted to get her hair permanently straightened! It was kinda like a 'local' hairdresser so a place you don't have expectations for. Mann, it took 3 hours to just straighten, but it's cheap so I guess that makes up for the waiting time. Took photos cos there was nothing else for me to do, and I wasn't allowed to roam the streets alone )x.
The typical type of streets I saw everyday.
Before straightening and during the process.
My cousin and end result after three hours.
Went to the markets afterwards and wow, it was damn crowded. Motorists, pedestrians and drivers all tryna get through this tiny tiny road, no one willing to give in. We never made it to the end of the markets. I don't think I actually bought anything in the first week of my trip apart from stockings which I swear, half of them ripped before I even got back to Australia =.=
Eating at a dessert shop. Even my mum was complaining about the hygiene and she grew up here LOL. We ended up leaving without finishing our food.
My aunty had this! Beans and intestines are all I can see ..
More markets! This was indoor though it was not much better cos it really stunk T.T
A place similar to BreadTop. So many of these in China. I like the Angry Bird cake at the top XD.
Dinner at my uncle's house. They always cook so much D: I never saw a time where even one dish was finished! But I think they like having leftovers to feed chickens, idk ..
Man, I was really lazy with this post LOL. But my memory doesn't go that far to remember exactly what I did back in day 1. Hopefully it'll get better as I get to the more recent times.
